New Exclusive Treatment For Dry Eye Symptoms
Spruce Grove Vision Care is proud to offer a new treatment for dry eye symptoms caused by MGD (Meibomian Gland Dysfunction).
Dry Eye is made worse by many of the things we need in our everyday life, including screen-time, wearing contact lenses and being around a lot of artificial light. Because of this approximately 30% of the Canadian population suffers from Dry Eye disease.
Dry Eye is also especially common in dry, northern climates. It effects many people who work in offices, spend a lot of time on the computer and don’t get much natural light in winter.
The majority of cases of dry eye are caused by MGD, or Meibomian Glan Dysfunction.
How We Treat Dry Eye Symptoms:
Tearcheck Dry Eye Analysis
We’ll first complete our quick and painless Tearcheck Dry Eye Test, which is a simple scan of the inside of your eyelids.
Two high-resolution cameras provide images of your Meibomius Glands, and will show us your rate of gland loss. This gland loss causes dry eye.
The Tearcheck will tell us if you are a good candidate for our Dry Eye Treatment.
E-Eye Dry Eye Treatment
This treatment is painless, non-invasive and completely safe.
If you are a candidate for treatment, we will book you in for at least two sessions. Please arrive for your treatment with no cosmetic products on your skin.
During the session, we will place protective goggles on your eyes. A hydrogel is applied underneath your eyes and to your cheekbone. The machine emits a series of 5 flashes as we move the device underneath your eye area on your skin.
After the session – be sure to apply sunscreen to areas that were treated.
